Frey is currently in development. We encourage you to create an account, or play a game of Contingency in the meantime.

About the game

Frey is an online single or multiplayer real-time shooter. Players pilot their ship through the solar system blasting other players and NPCs as they rack up points they can spend on ship enhancements for their next battle and track their achievements in their critter profile.

Games are a few minutes of intense battle action utilizing a unique 360° targeting and ship movement style, weapon and ship customization between battles, and using different solar systems and NPCs for infinite variation, providing hours of entertainment.

Flux Integration

Starship Battles in Flux are primarily based on ship enhancements, abilities, and stats. Don't let that stop you though, if you want to test your game skills you can invite your opponent to battle you in a game of Frey. If you enter a sector with other players that are currently online, you can invite them to a game, where the result of the ensuing battle will affect your Flux and Frey status. This will allow for a more rich and interactive game play experience that allows you to play as long or as little as you would like, while allowing skilled pilots to supplement their trading and star navigation skills.

Development
Timeline

Frey is currently sceduled for development. Development will begin after Contingency enters beta testing. According to our survey results (at time of this post) Frey was ranked the second most popular game, coming a close second to Contingency.

Commentary

I'm really excited about this game. There aroing to be a lot of ship customizations availble to make star-fighter battles intense. The simple and effective 360° turrets are going to be what really make the game fun. Even though this game isn't going to challenge the strategic thinkers, it is certanly going to appeal to anyone who just likes to shoot stuff!

Programmer Commentary

My brother and I spent hours around the first 286 computer I built in my basement playing a game called Star Control. This concept was great, and has been done many times, but what better way to get my feet wet with Flash? This game will really be most fun to program since it involves some good physics, multi-player aspects and vector graphics.
